It is a very nice breakfast , lunch or dinner meal option . It is also called as Socca in middle-east and Cheela in India. So, let us learn how to make chickpea pancakes. <br> <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ingredients: for 2 pcs   <\/span>   <\/strong>     <br>&#8211; Chickpea flour &#8211; 1\/2 measuring cup                                                                                                                                                                   <br>&#8211; Water for mixing<br>&#8211; Nigella, fennel and sesame seeds- 1\/4 tsp each  <br>&#8211; Oil for cooking &#8211; 1\/4 cup  measuring approx.<br>&#8211; Finely chopped vegetables like grated carrots, onion, tomato, cilantro etc .  <br>&#8211; Salt to taste<br>                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Steps to make Chickpea pancakes:      <\/span>     <\/strong><br>&#8212; Take a long bottom jar or cup and add chickpea flour, seeds and salt.     <br>&#8212; Add 1\/4 measuring cup of water in the beginning and mix the flour so that all lumps are removed.   <br>&#8212; Now add around 1\/2 measuring cups of water and mix the batter . The batter should not be thick . It should have a consistency of a runny egg yolk.  <br>&#8212; Add in all the vegetables and mix them.<br>&#8212; Put a pan on the gas. Add 1 tsp of oil and 1-2 drops of water and cover the pan .<br>&#8212; Switch on the gas to a low flame. Gradually you will hear the sound of oil splattering. Do not remove the cover until the noise stops completely. This will season the pan very nicely.<br>&#8212; Now that the pan is hot enough. Add 1 tsp of oil, give the batter a stir and pour 2 ladle full of batter on the pan . Roll the pan with the hands or with the help of back side of the ladle, spread the batter in a circle.<br>&#8212; Drop 1 drop of oil, each on 4 sides of the circle and one in the centre of the circle.<br>&#8212; Cover the pan for 3-4 minutes. Remove the cover and let the pancake cook for 2-3 minutes in open.<br>&#8212; Flip the pancake upside down using a spatula and let it cook again for 2 minutes without cover.<br><br>Your savoury chickpea pancakes are ready. Spread a good amount of ghee or butter on the pancakes and enjoy them with different relishes, jams, chutneys or just make a quesadilla of it and enjoy. You can also add herbs, cheese on the top at the end, if you are dairy friendly.
